Painting created by Mavis Oultram c.1968, in the art therapy studio at Netherne hospital in Surrey where she was compelled to live.
This is one of six surviving works by her, all of which feature motifs of spirals & eyes.

Created by King Sejong the Great in 1446 to promote literacy among the common people, Hangul is celebrated for its unique and deliberate design, often called “scientific” for how its letters reflect the shapes of the mouth and tongue. Hangul Day honors both the cultural significance of the alphabet and King Sejong’s dedication to making language accessible to his people.
