The time switch I fitted to control the sitting room lights failed. I replaced it and instead of returning the failed switch for a refund under guarantee, I took it apart to see if I could fix it. I can't fix it. That cost me 30 quid and a hurrumph from MrsB. Us blokes eh?

MrsB suggested to her boss that I could help with some site work. She said and I quote, "He may be old but he does have all the right tools and he is still fairly active." I'm thinking a marketing course for MrsB might be a good investment.

I am English MrsB is Scottish. One test of patriotism is to say which country's team you would support if there was an apparent clash of loyalties. Those suggesting that have never met MrsB so if our 2 countries clash, I'm with Mel Gibson all the way, woad and all.

I didn't realise that my feet would get bigger as I got older. They were the same size for 62 years, recently my shoes felt tight and I had to go up half a size. Hopefully they will not get much bigger or I suppose I could get a job as a circus clown.

The 4% pay rise for teachers was unfunded. The most important early years resource is people, children to change, speech and language to develop but less money fewer adults. Also improved qualifications required, more cost to schools for training. Result, early years teachers quitting. Workload.
