What has led you to this point? And how do you think of the problem of predators on Roblox? Baszucki: We think of it not necessarily just as a problem, but an opportunity as well. How do we Newton: Yeah, I mean, you mentioned sort of kids leaving the platform, and it does become clear in those lawsuits that Roblox is kind of, you know, where predators go to find kids, but then they do try to - Baszucki: (interjecting) Well, I would say in the lawsuit or the press, yes. I would categorically reject the actual description of what you're saying. But yes, what you might read in the news would portray it that way, but I - Newton: (interjecting) You don't think you have a problem with predators on the platform. Baszucki: I think we're doing an incredible job at innovating relative to the number of people on our platform and the hours, in really leaning into the future of how this is going to work. Roose: Would you ever put a prediction market inside Roblox — like, let kids bet with their Robux and say, "I bet he's gonna steal a Tung Tung Tung Sahur?" Newton: Or, "I bet he's not gonna Dress to Impress." Baszucki: We would - I think we would have to do that — once again, I'll share some of the complexity. Every single country in the world has different legislation around loot boxes and kid gambling. And so we would have to be — it sounds very fun and obvious. Like, I love that - Roose: Oh, to be clear, I think this is a horrible idea. Newton and Baszucki: (laughter) Roose: I was just interested if you were thinking about it. Baszucki: Well, I actually think it's a brilliant idea if it can be done in an educational way that's legal. And so, imagine no free Robux, no free prizes, just a game called the Dress to Impress Predictor, where it's not like trying to get kids' money or anything like that. I would be a big fan of it. Newton: Interesting. Roose: Yes, start them young. That's what I always say. When it comes to gambling, you're never too young.

News Team, Thank you for the notes and texts. I apologize for not reaching out earlier. I learned on Saturday that Bari Weiss spiked our story, INSIDE CECOT, which was supposed to air tonight. We (Ori and I) asked for a call to discuss her decision. She did not afford us that courtesy/opportunity. Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now-after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one. We requested responses to questions and/or interviews with DHS, the White House, and the State Department. Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed to kill the story. If the administration's refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we have effectively handed them a "kill switch" for any reporting they find inconvenient. If the standard for airing a story becomes "the government must agree to be interviewed," then the government effectively gains control over the 60 Minutes broadcast. We go from an investigative powerhouse to a stenographer for the state. These men risked their lives to speak with us. We have a moral and professional obligation to the sources who entrusted us with their stories. Abandoning them now is a betrayal of the most basic tenet of journalism: giving voice to the voiceless. CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that "low point." By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones. We have been promoting this story on social media for days. Our viewers are expecting it. When it fails to air without a credible explanation, the public will correctly identify this as corporate censorship. We are trading 50 years of "Gold Standard" reputation for a single week of political quiet. I care too much about this broadcast to watch it be dismantled without a fight. Sharyn

Americans once opposed this inhumane system.

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

The funniest Warner Discovery grift: I know, we all love to read about how much richer David Zaslav will get from the sale of Warner Bros. Discovery, a company from which he aggressively drained value during his three years as C.E.O. (and which he should never have created in the first place). But let's at least acknowledge his other C-suite collaborators, who aren't far behind in the outrageous golden parachute pecking order. Thanks to Paramount's S.E.C. filing this week, we can now see the total payouts in cash, equity, and benefits if the company were to sell: David Zaslav, C.E.O.: $567.7 million Gunnar Wiedenfels, C.F.O.: $144.9 million Bruce Campbell, chief revenue and strategy officer, $138.5 million JB Perrette, C.E.O. and president, global streaming and games: $167.4 million Gerhard Zeiler, president, international: $95.2 million That's more than a billion bucks to five executives, ghoulish money for all of them. But the funniest grifter of all might be Amy Girdwood, the chief people and culture officer, who stands to make $28.9 million in vested stock awards. A pittance compared to the others, but that's nearly $30 million to the H.R. person! Who has no involvement in the strategy and direction of the company! And that's before any further bidding!

I’ll give you a little anecdote: Stephen Miller was perhaps the most concerned about the portrait session. He asked me, “Should I smile or not smile?” and I said, “How would you want to be portrayed?” We agreed that we would do a bit of both. And then when we were finished, he comes up to me to shake my hand and say goodbye. And he says to me, “You know, you have a lot of power in the discretion you use to be kind to people.” And I looked at him and I said, “You know, you do, too.”
