everything about this is stupid and evil but the bit at the end, that betting markets generate insights that are useful in any way, is so funny. thank god i have access to the wisdom of the crowd when debating “how hot will it be in LA today” or “what will Jeff Probst say on Survivor episode 11”

The federal shutdown is now about to affect millions of people who use SNAP - the food stamp program - and those same people cannot afford their energy bills. To get every dollar in people's pockets to go to food, not utility corporations, we need an emergency ban on shutoffs.

Sadly I never got to see D’Angelo in person but my favorite live D’Angelo moment was when he sang “How Does It Feel” for the first time in a decade in Paris (after leaving it out of early shows on that tour) and they went nuts just from the first chord then went on to sing that chorus pitch perfect:

Many years ago, Zohran attended a few meetings of Survived and Punished NY. When we launched our #FreeThemAll campaign to free people in women's prisons who were incarcerated for defending themselves against DV/SA, Zohran who was then working on Cynthia Nixon's campaign got us on her radar.
