Seeking help on getting Gemini out of my Google workspace (especially Drive). Smart features are turned off and I've also deselected Opal and Gemini. Why am I still getting force fed Gemini in my Google Drive?

Remember personal pan pizza tracker cards? Made resolutions this year based on that inspiration! We also tied two big accomplishments we want to complete in 2026 around bottles of bubbly that we will open once we achieve those!

Niche thing from my dissertation: a big downside to subscription or privatized models of bike programs (aside from price point) is the lack of flexibility for resident needs. Ex: Seoul (which operates bikes as a public good) was able to design smaller bikes for youth, women, and elderly folks

Also FWIW, Jourdan and I have spent two years trying to tell folks that the work of "AI detection" is incredibly flawed and biased against folks who are disabled and English learners.

So Daniel remembered Chanukah candles but forgot to bring a Chanukiah with him from Ottawa. We improvised by building a LEGO Chanukiah and creating a makeshift one with Trader Joe’s seasoning. Happy night 1, everyone!

Shabbat shalom! It’s the last Shabbat in Copenhagen for the year! It’s been truly phenomenal to have this postdoc experience and live here. I’m also excited to that classes finished this week and now I can go home to Canada for a little bit and see my dogs.

So the bad news is that Daniel forgot to bring the Chanukiah I asked for him to bring. The good news is that I get to order the Lego set I wanted to order now. (Yellow Chanukiah was the original design; teal Chanukiah is my design)

I am genuinely confused (and potentially concerned) as to why ISA is sending out different messaging and framing to different segments of ISA membership about traveling to the 2026 conference. These are screenshots from three different scholars I know of the "same" email we received today from ISA.

Shabbat shalom! I had a great last two weeks traveling back to Canada and the US for some guest talks and to see my dogs (and Dan). This week was bookended by lost luggage (again) and having a little health flare up (again). Thankfully, not anything some soup, liquids, and rest couldn’t mostly fix.

I'm thrilled to announce that @isa-canada.bsky.social will have TWO workshops at @cpsa-acsp.bsky.social this year! A dissertation workshop (open to all in the AM and with an invite-only track for feedback in the afternoon) and a workshop on teaching IR in the age of generative AI. More info in 🧵
