There are some people whom the media has decided are "leading intellectuals", regardless of the views of their academic colleagues. Invariably they are people who justify - or at the very least do not challenge - economic power. Steven Pinker is a stand-out example.

Better pay for ordinary workers is good for the economy because that money gets spent.
High pay and tax breaks for the wealthiest are bad for the economy because that money gets squirrelled away in offshore tax havens

Anti-terror legislation in the UK has a very broad scope (surprisingly broad, some might say), but a decision to proscribe a particular organisation is a political choice.

It looks like this Labour government have got the politics wrong again.

Amongst everything else that can ,(and should) be said against this - it's clearly, surely not sustainable or workable from an enforcement perspective.

It's madness to arrest people for objecting to a proscription.

She was arrested for holding a sign reading:

“I do not support the proscription of Palestine Action”

How that would warrant arrest is very unclear. I wonder if the police here even understand the boundaries of the bizarre law they’ve been forced to enforce.

I'd actually forgotten how extraordinary it is that when I won the leadership - I wasn't interviewed as it was too close to our party conference interviewed.

And then refused a second time!

Part of the antidote to all of this is creating our own media platforms.

With @ZackPolanski’s leadership, the atmosphere is electric. The party is unified, energetic, confident and growing fast.
