An important thing we can do right now is to say it’s unacceptable to have people on the news who are paid to performatively lie, even if the lie looks foolish. This guy is not actually speaking an opinion, he is doing community theater.

This is the thing—there can be no Black people in the story and the whole thing at base is anti-blackness and it is exhausting and tired and unoriginal
If Mamdani had checked just Asian or say, Asian and white (bear with me) NYT would never have run that story.
The only reason they ran that story is because of the cultural belief that being Black gives you leg up in society despite research that says that isn't true.

wow @nytimes.com i know its not quite as scandalous as a brown guy accurately reflecting his ethnicity on a college application a few decades ago but heres an actual lie actually being told for political gain and its happening like right now in the present day

Tesla cars are designed to turn off its self-driving mode less than a second before a crash, so Tesla can claim that the car was not operating in self-driving mode when it crashed. Musk is evil.
