I still remember every record purchase I made as a child pretty clearly. Got Thriller from Argos in Stevenage, remember seeing it work it’s way along the conveyor belt

Anyone (UK) fancy a sixties Hofner Verithin? Stable headstock break, but plays/sounds great, and half the price of a clean one.

Is it medically possible to be allergic to mornings, because the alarm went off at seven today and I feel like shit. It can’t be good for your health

I'm a little sad this hasn't had more spins you know. It's really good, and this Megadog vibe is very close to my heart....

I’ve reached the stage where I enjoy jazz records, but I suspect if some peculiar criminals demanded that I identify a particular soloist or track by ear, I’d be for the chop

Before I put it on discogs, does anyone fancy a nice UK copy of Peel favourites The Appletree Theatre‘s album? EX/EX 40 quid.

Early wax cylinder recordings of Irish music remain some of the most haunting, terrifying & well *heavy* thinks I have ever heard.

This is 90% grinding noise with a bit of abrasive distorted piping on top.

I can play this on banjo, at this speed, but it sounds like a midi version in comparison.

#nowplaying. One of many legendary albums I’ve never listened to because it’s not from 1969… ;) Guardian gig review tucked in the sleeve by my Uncle

I don’t think I want to know, because I enjoy the sense of low stakes bemusement when I see “-1, feels like -4“. Does it feel like -4 to a thermometer too? Does a local committee discuss what it feels like?

Now Playing : *woefully* underrated, imo, and their best album by a long way.

Amazing what a fine line it is between 10/10 weather (some lovely snow) and 1/10 weather (cold, damp and rainy)

Why are websites so insanely bad at just… existing. Discogs internal search engine has got so bad that I just do a regular internet search including ‘discogs’ if I want to find anything, and currently I can’t access it at all cos it thinks I’m a bot.

There is nothing better than Robert Lloyd Parry reading a ghost story in a chapel in December. It is as much a part of Christmas as carols, presents and watching It's A Wonderful Life for the forty-first time.
"Casting the Runes" & "The Residence at Whitminster", two ghost stories by M R James, in a fascinating chapel in London on December 7. Tickets below:

I’d always wondered if the guys behind two of my long time favourite records (Pacific Ocean Blue, No Other) ever met, and via DW’s friend Ed Roach on fb, yes they did, and had ’some sort of disagreement’. Circa 1979.
