I think it's cool that there's this island in the Caribbean, and on one half of that island, and ONLY half, is home to the best baseball players in the world.

The only flag you’re supposed to fly higher than Old Glory in New England
I spent several minutes trying to figure out what state or nation's flag this dunkin' donuts flying next to the american flag, and then the wind blew it out and it was the red sox

I just saw a preview for the Hugh Jackman Neil Diamond biopic and reflexively sputtered “Oh no, what the fuck?”

there is zero chance the Yankees failed to turn a profit in any year, but especially in 2025 when they were coming off a World Series appearance. If an MLB owner says he lost money, that's like me saying I can fly. You should insist on proof.

(I can't fly, just so no one asks me to demonstrate.)

One of my most controversial food opinions is that walnuts improve most baked goods. Chocolate chip cookies? Zucchini bread? Carrot cake?

I live in an area of the country where delicious, authentic tacos are commonly available.

But man, sometimes a Tex-Mex taco with ground beef, cheddar cheese and a crunchy corn tortilla shell really hits the spot.

One time I baked a birthday cake for my girlfriend, now wife, and I broke it taking it out of the pan. I slammed the oven door shut and yelled in frustration and a neighbor called the cops on me because they thought there was a DV situation.

🙃

The DM for my Pendragon campaign lives in the Canadian wilderness and multiple sessions have been cancelled because his power went out.

I imagine that a moose keeps chewing through it and that the repair tech is just Red Green.

Gun to my head I could not tell you the major story beats in any Star Wars movie. Except maybe A New Hope and The Phantom Menace. They're all just one story. It's all Star Wars. I have no idea what happens in which movie.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

I went on the Aurora, CO subreddit to ask what everyone's favorite pizza place was in town because I wanted a new place to try...

The favorite so far seems to be the place I usually go to.

I am no longer living paycheck to paycheck but I still get excited by things like this month I get paid on Wednesday since it's the last working day of the month. That's like getting paid four whole days early!

Having a dog is so cool. I got up early and used the hall bathroom so as not to disturb Loretta and Slugger and when I came back to bed after just a few minutes, Slugger greeted me like I came back from war

Every year we have to listen to doofuses say how much they hate turkey because they’ve never had good turkey before.

How did Slugger learn that the whistle is the part of the squeaker is what makes the noise? He didn't used to know that.

"Hamburg" is a pretty popular topping in the northeast, particularly Maine. It's big pieces of ground beef usually seasoned with salt and pepper and oregano. Instead of being broken up into very small pieces it's left in larger ones. And it's great.

But uncommon elsewhere. Why?

Loretta invented a song for Slugger like “there’s no-where to hide…” but there’s already a well established song about that? She’s doing royalty free music for some reason

This year's UMaine hockey team is so frustrating to watch. They're incredibly talented. Maybe the most talent they've had since they last won the National Championship but they're all very young and kind of fall apart at the worst possible times.

I saw a post where someone said the Wii was their favorite console of all-time and I'm genuinely so confused.

People are allowed to like what they like, I just don't understand at all. It had a weak library of games, it had a gimmicky controller... What classic game was on the Wii?
