🧵1/12: Russia’s economy hasn’t collapsed, but it is suffering immensely. It still runs, but only because the central bank keeps it alive with constant REPO liquidity. What was once emergency support is now the daily operating system.

I looked at central heating prices in various russian cities, and although there were some outliers with 1.5% and 20% increases, in most cases the increase in 2025 was around 12-15%

Restraining Russian Oil: New Sanctions are Poised to Further Erode Moscow’s Faltering War Finances [highlights from forthcoming reports]
Given a chance to take their toll, new oil sanctions should accelerate the Russian energy sector's steep decline, intensify Moscow’s cashflow squeeze, and strengthen the West’s negotiating hand.

NATO was built to fight only one war, not to go to Afghanistan, not to go to Syria. One war to save free Europe from Russian aggression.

No, it is not to draconian. If you live in a country, YOU are supposed to learn the language-otherwise the „native“ inhabitants have to learn your language. Otherwise there is no communication and integration possible. And the you have a parallel society which doesn’t comply with the common rules.

I think Putin understands that hyperinflation will be the end of him. Otherwise instead of raising taxes and squeezing more money out of russian pockets and businesses, he would have started the printer already. He is saving it as a last resort.

Targeting Russia's energy infrastructure is the most efficient way to lead Russia's economy into its downfall, and by extension the war. The Soviet Union and its dissolution was caused by an high military budget and falling revenues from energy exports.
