I miss moderate centrists, who don’t claim to have all the answers, who don’t ascribe to either extreme ideologies or supposedly god-given rules to try and control other people, and who try to work together to settle problems aware of their own limitations. Where have they gone?

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

Auch wenn ich selber anders wählen werde, bin ich bisher davon ausgegangen, dass die Union die nächste Bundesregierung stellen wird. Für sie ist Herr Merz aber kein Zugpferd mehr, sondern Ballast.
