So it’s not so much that the emperor had no clothes (don’t go there) but the guy & the government of which he is a part have no values, neither those you can or can’t shoot. He & his boss can shoot off their respective mouths, however, and stick in their feet.
god this guy is an idiot. like, a stone cold idiot who sincerely believes that war fighting and preparedness is about having the biggest dick
Hegseth at NATO summit: "We can talk all we want about values. Values are important. But you can't shoot values."

These emails, sent across agencies, compel all federal employees to snitch on any colleague whose work might have some vague DEIA inflection. Those who refuse to snitch will be disciplined.

Seems designed to put all workers who aren’t white men under a cloud of suspicion. Truly vile stuff.
The acting director of the Office of Personnel Management (the feds' H.R. department) is telling federal employees to rat out their DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility) colleagues by emailing "[email protected]."

Reup: Peterr's reflection on Bishop Budde & prayer service:

This is a service for the nation.

Not for "the citizens of" the nation.
Not for "the taxpayers of" the nation.
Not for "the leaders of" the nation.
This was a service for the nation-the *whole* nation.

Welcome to the next four years. Republicans do horribly rightwing things to hurt people and move the Overton window even further right, while rightwing Democrats say 'Hey, can you let us join in and do it in a bipartisan fashion'.

Kill me now.
13 Democratic senators, led by Mark Kelly, write a letter asking John Thune and Republicans to work with them on an immigration bill instead of doing it on party lines through reconciliation.

and the choice of that strategy tells you they are afraid you *will* do something about it

The tractors coming into London today, in fact, pay no road tax, no congestion charge, and no ULEZ.
