However the ~$30 million cut to the MTA under the Transit Security Grant Program, which was revealed by the Streetsblog National Security Desk, has still not been restored and is still being litigated in federal court nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/09/30/t...

Fortunately that's all in the Streetsblog story that just went up: nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/10/01/t...

I called my Senators about this a few days ago and it is already a tough time in my life before I had to beg for my existence and the existence of my friends and community from people who are supposed to represent us. It’s incredibly draining. We need others to speak on our behalf here, too.

“when it comes to transportation, Adams has been insincere, uninvested and un-open to criticism — a toxic combination in a leader”
nyc.streetsblog.org
Let's remember some alleged corruption, empty promises, and an unwillingness to stand up to anyone (ever) from the soon-to-be former mayor. buff.ly/p5PBQT1

yeah they're just murdering random people on these boats

I think the Trump admin assumed no one would try to find out who the people on the boats they blew up really were

"Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, the frontrunner to succeed Adams, has his own big transportation promises, and a record of criticizing Adams for failing to live up to his. Andrew Cuomo, his main remaining opponent, doesn't even have a streets transportation plan."

maybe he's talking about the commuter buses

A line that stuck out to me (and I think nobody else) in yesterday's NJGov debate: Ciattarelli (GOP nominee) describing the turnpike as a "mass transit system."

Trump is rescinding road safety grants all over the country, in blue states and red ones.

The reason: those projects are "hostile" to cars.

it's interesting that we perceive this as a period of anti-queer reaction

fyi they also don't like scantily clad men

Exactly. If it was just a religious issue it wouldn't happen literally anywhere DOT tries anything.

Chomsky was right when he said vigilante violence does not help progressive causes as the fascists have the most guns. I condemn this attack on Charlie Kirk. And I condemn people trying to resolve our political problems with violence. It only leads to more violence. We must build each other up.

Like, I don't know what to say dude. Multiple Jewish people told you your tweet was offensive and inaccurate and rather than listening you brought up sexism completely out of nowhere as a way to dismiss our criticism as invalid.
dmey.bsky.social
And if you want to claim they're lying about that and this is all about religious customs wrt modesty, it's on you to back that up and not act like it's some sort of failure of journalism that it hasn't been uncovered.
dmey.bsky.social
I'm telling you, based on the reporting we've done, that modesty has not come up in any interviews or public statements that we've seen, in English or Yiddish. I can't disprove a negative. I think it's wrong to single out a religious motivation when the same thing happens in secular communities.

To me, your original post was hyperbolic, offensive and disrespectful to your fellow NYers and your defense was even worse.
dmey.bsky.social
I don't appreciate being told how to do my job and I don't see anything you've posted today that is remotely "pro-Jewish." I called you out for a post I didn't like and you doubled down on your view that a Jewish community is trying to "control" you.

Yes it's clear they have accepted the gentrifiers in their midst. Reading coverage of the 2008 fight is like night and day.
