Spoke with TD Barry Heneghan on the #EchoChamberPod who was onboard the Thousand Madleens to Gaza Flotilla yesterday just as they were entering the “red zone.” A few hours later he was abducted by Israeli forces in international waters alongside the rest of his humanitarian crew.

The reason Israel thinks it can get away with everything is because Israel gets away with everything. Sanctions now. Pass the Occupied Territories Bill. Kick them out of FIFA, UEFA and IOC.

My empathy is firstly for the people who deal with actual material physical and verbal impact of the proliferation of the idea that immigrants are gaming the system and linking them to “feeling unsafe in our towns” and the women who are sick of people being unable to call a rapist a rapist.

I once rang Hotel Doolin to ask them if I could use their loos for a group of just arrived Syrian families who were on a day trip across Clare and when we arrived they had muffins & hot chocolates ready for all the children and teas and coffees and scones for the adults ready in their barn.
The same company/family run Hotel Doolin and The Armada in Clare, they are the absolute real deal never missing a chance to support their communities whatever way they can: this from them this morning-
