Let me break it down for them: workers are furloughed because Trump shut down the government. His threats to FIRE them are illegal — and would devastate American families:

The only way he would know a federal employee's political affiliation is if they registered to vote, and if they registered with a specific party. To fire anyone based on that information would be a violation of their First Amendment rights.

His threats not to pay furloughed workers if/when they return follows long standing claims that Trump doesn't pay, especially contractors, nothing new there. It would be nice to see some of those thousands of sealed (non-disclosure) lawsuits he has been involved in.
