Start thinking of the "moderate" as a Trump-AOC voter, or Trump-Tlaib, if you will.

"Infrequent voters are voting. It's a very low-trust environment. So the traditional left-right spectrum and going moderate on issues, it's not as clear. Anybody saying, 'I can win the election by tweaking positions" slightly is selling you something," says @jakemgrumbach.bsky.social.

Jeffries is damaging public trust in our system. The most disaffected voters who choose Republicans or don’t vote at all ALWAYS have told me “both parties are the same”. This is not true, However this kind of praise is exhibit A in that argument

Yes, that is precisely what is happening. Dems believe the way to win in politics is to outsource their own voices and rhetoric to pollsters, and pollsters relentlessly push the idea that health care is Dems’ strongest issue, and thus every event and crisis should be redirected towards health care.

there is clearly some consultant telling them to do this because after indicting the former FBI Director because the president demanded it and illegally ordering troops to occupy another U.S. city my own member of Congress sent a text out about protecting our healthcare

The Trump administration’s threat to deploy troops in Portland is unlawful.

Here’s a thought.

Focus on protecting the healthcare of the American people.

A couple weeks ago, these blowdried chucklefucks were "joking" about how they should reclaim the word Nazi and now they're "joking" about blowing up the UN or gassing the foreign leaders inside.

But they didn't say anything questionable about Charlie Kirk, so no big deal.

I had this exact same experience this morning. Same reporter as Heidi.

This is *not* normal.

I have spoken to the press on these issues for two decades. No government official has ever demanded to know my identity in order to give a comment on a story.

I find this extremely chilling:
I spoke w a reporter this morning about Kimmel. (Reporter was / is great) They got back to me a short while ago to say they sought White House comment & WH demands to know first which experts they spoke with. I told reporter I'm happy to be quoted IN THE STORY but 1/x

Oliver Darcy has obtained the termination letter sent to Karen Attiah by the Washington Posts’s HR chief.

The letter specifically mentions her postings about “white men” violating Washington Post policy.

The Washington post
September 11, 2025
Karen,
I am writing to inform you that The Post is terminating your employment effective immediately for gross misconduct. Your public comments on social media regarding the death of Charlie Kirk violate The Post's social media policies, harm the integrity of our organization, and potentially endanger the physical safety of our staff.
Among other requirements, the Company-wide social media policy mandates that all employee social media postings be respectful and prohibits postings that disparage people based on their race, gender or other protected characteristics. The policy also reminds employees that everything they post is a reflection on the Company and should not affect the integrity of The Post's journalism. Your postings on Bluesky (which clearly identifies you as a Post Columnist) about white men in response to the killing of Charlie Kirk do not comply with our policy. For example, you posted: "Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is.... not the same as violence" and "Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence."
In addition, just last year, Opinions leadership asked everyone in the Opinions Department to review the newsroom social media guidelines, attached those guidelines to an email to the Department for review, and reiterated in that email the "bedrock principle that our use of social media must never harm the journalistic integrity or reputation of The Post".
The poor judgment exhibited by your public comments regarding Charlie Kirk arise against the backdrop of documented performance concerns, which have been raised with you.
Given these concerns, and in light of your recent unacceptable Bluesky posts, we cannot tolerate the risk your performance poses to The Post. Please remove any reference to your affiliation with The Washington Post on any public-facing profiles immediately.
You will receive a separate letter from The Post's Benefits Department concerning your eligibility for any other Post benefits upon termination.
In the event that you have left any personal items on the premises, we will make arrangements to return them to you and for you to return any Post equipment you have in your possession.
Sincerely,
h. Wayne Connell

"A total of 3,599 people have been murdered in politically motivated terrorist attacks in the United States from January 1, 1975, through September 10, 2025. Murders committed in terrorist attacks account for about 0.35 percent of all murders since 1975."
