Personally I think realistic game design peaked at left 4 dead 2 and we didnt need to get more realistic

Oh my god that’s exactly what all this “de-extinction” stuff is. It’s way sexier and more scifi to pretend like we can bring back mammoths (we can’t) than actual wildlife conservation, which is a lot of unsexy hard work but actually gets results.
It has a lot of parallels to the fix the environment vs colonize mars discourse
