The whole GOP shutdown strategy is hoping that sheer force of propaganda can convince the public that things getting worse does not reflect badly on the people in charge of the government, and that hurting America more will get Democrats to acquiesce to the Trump admin hurting America in other ways.

Trump wants to end the ACA. He said Republicans should send ACA payments meant for insurers directly to Americans.
The math isn’t mathing. My premium’s up way more than the tax credit, and everyone’s costs are different. How would they manage that when they can’t manage basic governance?

Mike Johnson said something that I agree with. He said that trump is on the ballot in 2026. I couldn't agree more. If we don't win a majority in both houses of Congress, this is going to get so much worse and it's going to take decades to unwind all the damage he has created in this country.
