Bloom County’s gonna have a field day with this.
Breaking news: 40 years after they concealed Iran-Contra evidence together, Oliver North married his former secretary, Fawn Hall.

The quiet Virginia wedding marks a new chapter in one of the 1980s' biggest political scandals. https://wapo.st/46ceGTX

Amen
When a judge stops the president from doing something illegal, that’s not a “threat to democracy,” that’s a check on the president’s power. That's the whole damn point.

I haven’t laughed reading a post in a long time, but this one got me. Accurate to a tee, Mabel speaks the truth!
"board game publishers always lie about their play times"

some of you motherfuckers take a full minute to move a single meeple

I'm a Washington fan, been rooting for them for over 40 years, but I also live in Detroit, and the Lions are my hometown team. I take no pleasure in seeing their passionate fans disappointed yet again.
Lions fans, this team will be back, I feel they are built for the long run. Next year, rematch!

The thing I remember most about 25 years ago tonight was that I stayed home and stayed sober, awaiting a call after Midnight from work that would determine if what we had done for the previous two years went off without a hitch.
Spoiler - we did a good job in 1998-9, systems worked as intended.
Happy 25th Anniversary to those who remember...

I just saw that Jimmy Carter passed away this morning at age 100.
He was President when I was in High School, it's been a long time ago. And you'll not convince me that he was a good President.
Yet, he was a great human and the world is lessened today because he is no longer among us. RIP good Sir.

Is it just me or have others noticed an uptick in followers who are no more than money beggers or bim-bots? Just went through my followers list and deleted, reported and blocked at least 30 (that's where I quit counting). As an average, not notable personage here, I find this strange and amusing.

Twilight Struggle has earned its place in the pantheon of the greatest board games. It remains my all-time favorite game. TS Red Sea is also very worthy of a try, shorter play time, but no less intense and challenging. If you've yet to play either, now is a great time to try them!

Kaline made the most of his only World Series, batting .379/.400/.655 with 2 HR's and 8 RBI.
Detroit #Tigers star Al Kaline hits a HR vs. St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Steve Carlton in Game 6 of the 1968 World Series at Busch Stadium! Harry Caray with the classic call! #MLB #Legends #Baseball #History

Growing up, there were two players that my friends and I looked up to, one a Right Fielder, the other a Right Winger. The Winger was Gordie Howe, and the Right Fielder would've celebrated his 90th birthday today...
On this day in 1934, Albert William Kaline was born in Baltimore, MD. In his 22 seasons as a player with Detroit, he hit 399 home runs, including two in a memorable 1968 World Series. Here's my painting of him with the Tigers in June of 1954, his first full year with the club.

Over the last month, along with the increase in people coming over from the other site, I've seen a 79 follower bump.
For all my followers, thanks. I'm just a guy who follows board game, baseball and Star Trek content, and occasionally politics. Now you know what to expect from me here on out.
