Hot take: Horror gets flattened by bad-faith criticism that it is a "punishment narrative" and you're watching bad things happen to people because the story hates them.

That's wrong. The characters are often meant to be relatable and sympathetic, even in Slashers. That's where tension comes from.
The problem with horror discourse is it brings to mind about 75 other fights I don't really wanna have. Today: "most horror film subtext is conservative".

No.

I'm just gonna play for a second. First things that pop into my head.

Disappointed seeing some of the publishing news. Just want to reiterate our position on "AI" training:

We will never willingly allow someone to train "AI" tools on work we've received or published. There will not be any licensing deals here. No in-house projects either.
