I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Every couple of months I have to refill my prescriptions and be reminded that a) my insurance requires my maintenance meds to be ordered through Amazon and b) the price via Prime is less than the price via insurance.

I can't help but feel there are Shenanigans afoot with this setup.

Surely someone out there wants to play "guess the class" with these two fine fellows.
I love demonstrating the importance of class silhouette in modern WoW.

Whenever I see posts about how AI constantly uses names like Marcus and Liam and Blackwood and how those names now mark works as AI written, I'm like, "No, you canNOT have all my favorite names" and create another Liam Marcus Blackwood out of sheer, bloody-minded spite.

Sometimes, the best part of listening to a let's play of an indie game is getting to hear lines like "After autopsy, they were declared dead."

Edumacation would interfere with the children's work shifts in the mines.
BREAKING: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt just announced the Trump administration will close the Department of Education.

Schools, teachers, and students nationwide are now facing uncertainty like never before.

I feel like, once upon a time, this would have been a "gotcha" joke and not a newsweek headline, but we live in the absolute dumbest timeline.

All these numpties should have to use Roman numerals until the end of time.

Fact check: Is Mamdani introducing Arabic numerals to New York schools?
Arabic numerals are simply the digits 0 through 9—the standard number symbols used in every classroom in the United States.

Another name for this would be "pre-existing conditions," a way used to exclude disabled people from health care for decades in the US.

Understand, when you hear people talk about "rewarding the healthy" - these are policies that have a body count.
Please understand that "reward people for being healthy", in health insurance, also translates to "punish people for being disabled."

The people who are most vulnerable, most in need, will be asked to bear higher costs, in many cases, pricing them out of accessing health care, into early graves.
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

So, my MIL is staying with us for the winter, and she likes to be helpful so today she apparently decided to take the trash bags I had waiting for the bin out to the bin, so when I went to take the trash out I was like, "Hon? Did your mom steal our trash?"

I never played WoW around daily reset back in the day, and so I never knew the Golden Lotus /yelled "Defenders of the Vale, we require you to return to the Golden Pagoda in X minutes" as part of the reset countdown.

MoP remains the best expansion.

Remix is reminding me what a pain in the ass Legion is to get through without the time gates to help keep campaign quests in order.

This is why I never go back to Legion content even though I quite enjoyed it.

So I rolled a dracthyr (because if I don't roll one during remix I'm never going to have one, and I want the vorquin mounts but I don't want to grind the rep for the vorquin mounts), and right now the biggest annoyance is that the game tells me I have new appearances but won't let me see them.

No one should have to face such threats.

It would’ve been nice if Greene had realized this before she amplified and endorsed calls for executing Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.

The fact that Blizzard's real-money housing items unlock individual items and not appearances that we can then freely purchase from in-game vendors is...I don't even have words.

It's right up there with the Hearthstone pets that, barring incredible luck, cost $158 worth of runestones to "win".

⭐🌟⭐NEW VIDEO⭐🌟⭐ Blizzard Has Already Lied About Hearthsteel

Hearthsteel is a currency that is being introduced as part of the Player Housing system, as a way to use real life money to buy decorations from the in-game shop. And yes, it's as bad as it sounds.

My paranoid fear since the cherry trees for the cash shop is that "nothing that affects racial fantasy" really means "nothing that affects the popular races likely to attract backlash from big influencers".

So the human/orc/2 flavors of elf racial fantasy is safe. Niche racial fantasy pays.

On the one hand, I look upon Silvermoon with jealousy, and wish that Pandaria could be updated with modern assets.

On the other, I still do not trust Blizzard's writers, and do not want the inevitable narrative updates that would come with snazzy new assets.

As someone who has always loved books and had to learn to read because my parents got tired of reading the same books to me (shout out to the picture book version of Disney's Robin Hood), this dismissal of the meaning of words in favor of "concepts" caused me psychic damage and near-physical pain..
this is an insane justification for this theory! what a devaluation of language

Good lord, even Taliesin called Blizzard out on the cherry tree being tied to Pandaren racial fantasy.

This is how blatant Blizzard's lie about "items tied to racial fantasy won't be in the shop" is.

They've been called out by both Taliesin and Soul.

Love Bellular covering Hearthsteel and repeating the assurances that "nothing tied to race fantasy or available in game will be on the shop" while the housing screen with the high-res cherry trees is right there on the screen.

IG the GOOD version of the trees isn't in game so that makes it fine.
