Fantastic concert by the current GOAT Sir Simon Rattle , returning to symphony hall to play Stravinsky Firebird.

Many a prog rocker first heard this as the intro to the triple album Yessongs. Sounds even better IRL

Probably not the smartest edit, but the intervening 50+ minutes were pretty much rambling nonsense and in no way materially changed the tone and intention of the speech.

This 💯
Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

Must be one of the few times that someone has outdone Bowie in the hair department.
8th Nov 1975, David Bowie made his US TV debut on the Cher CBS-TV show. He performed his hit song "Fame," sang a few songs alongside Cher, and concluded with a medley of covers. Bowie who was living in New York at the time had written the song with John Lennon during a jamming session. #Bowieforever

Plus the red one is slightly , imho, more prominent . Had to look closely to even see that was a white poppy. On the other hand did we expect any else ?
If they only knew how to zoom in, they might just be able to make out the red poppy too....
