Photographer Ian called badger culling "a national disgrace" and said: "I would swap this award immediately for the government to rescind all existing badger culling licenses."

My first garden photos this year are a surprise. The stunning hellebore, full of buds, has bloomed continually since before last December. Wallflowers were showing a tiny bit of colour all winter. Just waiting for the bulbs now, they're lagging behind!

Fabulous (and slightly exhausting) day today at the Arts and Crafts Showcase for our Creative Group and Forest Sketchers. A great chance to share my passion for nature journaling with our visitors. Plus, I got to meet @ellabeard11.bsky.social which was such an unexpected pleasure!

Today is #Imbolc - the Gaelic festival celebrating the first signs of #spring 🌱✨

New life begins to emerge, early shoots push through the earth, and the promise of brighter days is in the air.

Take a moment to embrace the renewal, growth, and changing of the #seasons. 🤍

Fantastic blog from @WildlifeTrusts that debunks the myths about bats and newts that have been circulated by the government recently. (Spoiler alert: they are not the cause of the housing crisis or any crisis) 🦇🦎🦇🦎💚 www.wildlifetrusts.org/blog/joe-kee...
Myth-busting bats, newts and the economy vs nature protections | The Wildlife Trusts
There has been widespread misinformation blaming nature as a blocker to growth in the run up to the Chancellor’s speech this week, writes Joe Keegan, public affairs officer at The Wildlife Trusts.

When we work with nature, wonderful things can happen in gardens, allotments & other green spaces. Bumblebees, butterflies, ladybirds, dandelions, earthworms… these are just a few plants & animals that are very useful to have around. Here’s why, & how to get them onto your patch:

Finally got here, after a long break from social media. I've found a few of my favourite accounts but would love to connect with more kindred spirits, so any suggestions for nature, wildlife, art, folklore, etc, connections greatly appreciated!
