Excerpt from an article discussing LGBT+ protections in California legislation. It states that Governor Newsom neither signed nor vetoed certain bills. One bill strengthened protections under Sen. Scott Wiener’s “State of Refuge” law. Another example of the absolute mess Privatisation has made to the UK railways.

Poor service, massively overpriced tickets and unpleasant jobsworths.

The sooner the railways, rolling stocks and tracks are re-Nationalised (along with he water, electricity and gas), the better.

Rail travel - my odyssey:
1) Booked a train to London using split tickets to make it £170 return instead of £240.
2) Train delayed. Next train is the same company and gets in later than planned train but split ticket doesn’t count. Nice staff say it is up to the train manager if he will let me on.

Since I was little I have been saying I want to win the Nobel Prize in physics - a joke that still gets friends old and new, as well as relatives texting me today about rooting for me or asking me for the number to vote for me (à la Eurovision)

I agree with every word Zelda Williams says. And this at the end from OpenAI makes me want to go full Ned Ludd. Creators can’t have a blanket opt-out on copyright infringement of their work and have to fill out a form appealing to OpenAI’s mercy every time? Fuck off into the sun

OpenAI told the Guardian that content owners can flag copyright infringement using a “copyright disputes form” but that individual artists or studios cannot have a blanket opt-out. Varun Shetty, OpenAI’s head of media partnerships, said: “We’ll work with rights holders to block characters from Sora at their request and respond to takedown requests.”

I appreciate all the people showing love and support to me. I’m so grateful honestly. It means a lot. The ban isn’t that big of a deal for me. I think it was wrong and the explanation was bullshit. But that’s ok and I accept. Social media comes and goes. I’m grateful for all the connections I was able to make and all the people I get to be connected with off Bluesky. More importantly, the world needs more people to give a fuck. More people to give a fuck about Palestinians, more people to give a fuck about disabled folks, more people to give a fuck about our queer and trans siblings, more people to give a fuck about Black liberation. The world, and Bluesky, is full of bootlickers who will do anything to avoid doing anything to upset the status quo. These people are cowards groveling to those in power in hopes of protection. I just hope people continue to show love and care and kindness. Mutual aid is so important. Give when you can, boost when you can. We only survive this together.
