👋

For those who don't know me: I work independently at an intersection of Holocaust history, migration history, & German Jewish genealogy, utilising micro archives, macro archives, collaborative project work, digital methods, & digital outputs.

Phew 😅

I probably have most open at once when we’re doing tax or something tedious.

I use bookmarks quite a bit for research - organised into folders.

So if I want a link to an archive on Gleiwitz, it’s in the Gleiwitz folder in bookmarks, rather than having to scan dozens of random tabs 🤷🏻‍♀️
drcweissenberg.bsky.social
Seen a few posts recently about how big yer tab numbers are.

Me, I need clear space & an open range.

‘Probably’ (racing certainty) a bit OCD.

If I end up with 4 tabs open a session I get twitchy. I close tabs when I close the machine.

Because it leaves it neat and tidy for next time…

Twitch.

Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

Wonderful news!

Must be a relief to have it done.

Many congratulations.

Had a great call from a chap from the Berlin Jewish museum about my dad’s German Jewish materials.

He’s arranging to visit us in a few weeks - part of a trip of similar visits, following on from the same in Canada. (I want his job!)

It’s made me 🤔 again about a first visit to Berlin…

More soon.

This month we share the news that our Director will be leaving the Library at the end of the year to start an exciting role at IWM North. We’ll be sad to see Toby go after over a decade of important and instrumental work, but we wish him all the best with this brilliant opportunity buff.ly/4rOXc5K

Oh fantastic!

Fruit cheeses are lovely with all kinds of things - hope you enjoy sharing it round and getting lots of credit 😁

These are relaxing things to make, if you have time. Something good about laying foods down in these older ways for autumn and winter.

Amazing advance.

Might not happen in my lifetime, but I have 🤞🏻 for future generations to have better health outcomes from these discoveries

The class of immune cells at the centre of Monday’s Nobel prize is showing promise as a treatment for autoimmune diseases, cancer and even organ transplants — but there are still key challenges to overcome before these cells can be used in therapies in the clinic.

These immune cells won Nobel fame — can they solve autoimmune disease?

@boston.gov onboarded all their agencies to Bluesky to engage with Bostonians. Whether it's broken sidewalks, missing signage, or community issues, they want to hear from constituents. With little to no engagement on X, their actual interactions on bsky have increased. Engagement > follower count

Always always always travel with tea bags 😁

Better than a passport…

That’s… 😕

One of our setters ate most of a heap of £20 notes I’d left on the stairs, some years back. (Don’t judge; it was for school trips payment - always to be paid in cash back then)

Give the BoE its due, they replaced those where we had ‘bits’ left 😁

The whole wallet is … thorough.

Anyone know of a postdoc in Harry’s area? 👇🏻
harrylegg.bsky.social
Feeling the pressure to get a postdoc at the moment. If anyone has a cushy position available that I could take up in Sept/Oct 2026, let me know ;). I am not even joking. Some nepotism would be wonderful right about now.

I’ll have to start dropping hints here then 😁

Apple trees are absolutely laden from the months of drought, so it’s possibly the same thing going on with quince.
