Every time semi and nonspeaking people try to have a discussion about lateral ableism from speaking autistics it's completely ignored but other speaking people sure do have a lot to say on our behalf that gets actually listened to.

I am not always happy with the challenges I face

the hardest parts are sensory overwhelm, dyspraxia, and not being able to speak, all of which make me feel like my body is outside of my control

autistic folks are loudly declaring self-love because it is an act of defiance in the face of hatred

this is exactly how folks talk about estranged parents in news articles— but if a parent knowingly funnels children to a predator, how are the victims in a position to offer "mercy"?

when did I ever have any power over my mother? if I'd had power over her, I would have stopped her

Your mom is having surgery tomorrow at [redacted] to remove the remaining breast cancer under her arm and also to remove her gallbladder and a small section of her liver. They are concerned it has spread.

She is going under general anesthesia. This is high risk for her.

Please hold her in the Light.

If things go wrong and she wants to see you, are you willing to show mercy and see her?

She will be too weak to argue at that point.

I have auditory processing disorder, and I love when captions use descriptive, evocative language to tell me the sounds I’m missing

”lilting, waltz-like tune” gives me the core idea better than “[music]”

and I definitely want to know when there’s “squelching” or “flesh tearing” in my horror movie
