Indiana Republican state senator. I appreciate her not caving, but they are all still afraid to ever use Trump’s name. I guess doing so exponentially increases the threats. Trump rules the GOP with fear and intimidation. What a broken party.

The US Supreme Court could rule on whether Texas’ new congressional map gets to stay within the next few days.

Filing deadline for candidates is December 8, so it will be before then.

Reporter: If there were a second strike that killed wounded people, would that be legal?

Trump: I don’t know that happened and Pete said he did not even know what people were talking about. I wouldn’t have wanted a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine.

Do reporters ever follow up with questions like:

-Why do doctors keep telling you to get cognitive tests?

-Is identifying a picture of a giraffe challenging for you?

-Can you tell us a difficult question from one of these cognitive tests, or are you unable to remember?
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

Ok but what if the president was part of a conspiracy to traffic 400 tons of cocaine from that country into our country?
Reporter: You have made so clear how you want to keep drugs out of the US—

Trump: Right

Reporter: Can you explain why you would pardon a notorious drug trafficker?

Trump: If somebody sells drugs in that country, that doesn’t mean you arrest the president

You'd be hard pressed to find him saying anything of substance that's literally new these days, as in reflecting an awareness of recent events and things he's been told in recent days and weeks. All he can call up is the long-term memory of things he said years ago. Forming new memories is shot.

He's genuinely incapable of retaining new information. He immediately slides into an unrelated talking point from years ago. Likewise doubling down on "acing" a cognitive test, that's an old bit. It's entirely possible he really can't recall what his doctors (or anybody) very recently told him.

Note two things about GOP Rep. Mike Turner's solid remarks on Hegseth's reported order:

1) Turner: "I agree that that would be an illegal act."

2) Implicitly confirms the Washington Post's reporting that this information has been kept from Congress
Rep. Mike Turner on the double strike to comply with Hegseth's orders: "If that occurred, that would be very serious and I agree that would be an illegal act…This is completely outside of anything that has been discussed with Congress and there is an ongoing investigation."
