As a kid I used to think "feast" was an archaic way of referring to a farm field.

Since, well, King Wenceslas was looking out upon one belonging to a guy named Stephen.

So for no particular reason tonight I reminded of how, after NJ Transit left a bunch of trains parked in the Meadowlands during Hurricane Sandy, someone submitted a FOIA request for NJ Transit's storm preparedness plan and got a document that was a title page and the rest was 100% redacted.

SURPRISE! PANYNJ completely unprepared for the end of MetroCard sales & transition to OMNY.

MetroCard vending machines will go dark Dec 29 with no OMNY vending machines installed to replace them. Cash users need to jump through hoops.

Oh, and 10-trip/30-day unlimited cards? There's no replacement.

Taking an Outlook invite for a past meeting that actually happened and rescheduling it for a future date rather than creating a new meeting needs to be an offense that gets you in trouble with HR.

So here's something weird: the new King of The Hill takes some advantage of the fact that it is not bound by FCC network television content standards. "Dick" and "shit" are uttered uncensored which was never possible on FOX. But the f-bombs are bleeped. Why bleep them?

I was absolutely *obsessed* with traffic signals as a kid.

So I got super excited when I first saw the name of the second level of Duke Nukem 3D (Red Light District). I did not realize this meant something else at that age, and wondered for years where the red lights were. 😅

You know, the fact that phone cameras in selfie mode save images mirrored by default is one of those little things I hate, precisely because it effectively creates misinformation, and well...

Ah, screw it. I’m going to give the 60 second unpublished “transfer opportunity” at Jamaica a shot. I’m counting on the Brooklyn Shuttle running on time, and the Far Rockaway train being slightly late.

And the journey starts with this 40 year old M3 🫤

The 76 senators who voted yes on this voted to ban all CBD products currently on the market in the United States and completely shred the legal hemp industry as it exists. If any of them are yours, do give them a piece of your mind.

An angle on this whole health insurance drama that I don't think has gotten enough appreciation: a lot of people have been relying on Obamacare subsidies to be able to afford insurance while self-employed.

Air mattresses and water mattresses exist and I have slept on both. An earth mattress, I suppose you could argue, is simply sleeping on the ground.

Still need to find the elusive fire mattress.
