Yeah, probably not worth the time. Likely all redacted anyways.

This is the first time I’ve noticed this particular Executive Order getting cited as a reason for grant termination.
dustinmulvaney.bsky.social
A bit anti-climactic, but we finally got the termination notice for our Department of Energy, Solar Energy Technology Office grant.
"This project does not effectuate the Department of Energy's priorities of ensuring affordable, reliable, and abundant energy to meet growing demand and/or addresses the national emergency declared pursuant to Executive Order 14156.
The Department has reviewed your financial assistance agreement in accordance with this policy and determined that this project is not consistent with this Administration's goals, policies and priorities."

dude!! we were fog free until you brought it up...now look
full moon above mountains with fog in valley below. framed by redwood trees. santa cruz mtns
dustinmulvaney.bsky.social
Ack! No smoke this direction. Marine layer a bit taller today, sounds like smoke got caught in inversion.
dustinmulvaney.bsky.social
The oldest wildfire I can find locally in Santa Cruz mountains was reported in a newspaper from Bangor Maine.. There were no local SC newspapers at the time and I was curious why the news was reported in Maine and sleuthing found massive fires in 1825 after periods of heavy logging.

Thanks for sharing Glen. We are in the fog.

Well, folks, personal news: After 7 years, today is my last day with @latimes.com.

It's been a privilege working with some of the world's best journalists at my hometown paper. Thank you to everyone who's read and supported my work.

I'm not done telling climate stories. More news to come.

Congratulations Sammy on a great run of fabulous work. Looking forward to hearing what you do next.

I remember at least two proposed green/clean cement plants locally. One at Moss Landing, and another at Davenport.

Here are some random facts about California cement! bsky.app/profile/dust...
dustinmulvaney.bsky.social
Davenport once hosted the largest cement plant in the world. The pier shipped much of the dry bulk cement for rebuilding San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake, supplied cement for the dam at Hetch Hetchy, about half of the cement for the Panama Canal.

At the risk of angry-posting, I hope we learn something from this given the *extensive* environmental justice and environmental concessions that were made to "protect" the programs

Yep! Which is why the work of Solarcycle is so vital. www.solarcycle.us

We were on a competing proposal with solarcycle for this solicitation too.

fwiw, a circular economy in photovoltaics could result in recovery of enough materials to make 2 billion new solar panels by 2050.
