These mews units have been converted by recovering most or sometimes all of the space that had been garages for wide-open living space with generous windows the size of the previous garage doors. New mews units can accomplish the same thing in places not dominated by cars.

Walk London’s mews courts and it’s clear that many residents consider car ownership optional. This frees up mews unit owners to dispense with the garage, gain a workspace in its place plus in this case, plants and a pair of chairs.
