Code Yikes!

The CO2 data for November, 2025, was just released by NOAA, and the 3-year mean rate of atmospheric CO2 growth hit yet another new record high, at 7.93 ppm per 3 years.

That dip in the early 1990's is due to Mt. Pinatubo.

I think the modern root of all evil is calculus.
If it had been banned, a no-zone, we would be a steampunk world of 18th-century technology with basic computers.
The planet would be in a happier state.

Why Ireland needs to appoint a Chief Software Officer
Given the increasing reliance on software for public administration, do we need a government-wide figure to provide advice and guidance?

methink that we ought to resist the power of money for all our sakes: environment & people together in a forever sustainable harmony.
So that's a no on burning fossil fuels, on plastic, on destructive mining and a yes on communities.
Quite a long way to go, but degrowth is a good start.

Partly because so many formerly leftwing parties have turned to the right, there's a lot of confusion about what right and left mean in politics. I hope this helps:

The right defends economic power.

The left resists economic power.

So finally we have been cut off from BBC radio 6. As it happens my "student" subscription to the Irish Times has lapsed (goodbye simplex). As we just bought Netflix for the first time I am reluctant to fork our more money for subs.
At least www.radiofrance.fr/fip will keep me singing.

So let me get this right. Catherine Connolly wished she had awakened to the "militarisation of Europe" earlier than for the Nice Treaty over 20 years ago?
Seems to me those baby steps in the Nice Treaty have been proved utterly necessary in the face of Putin and Trump...
