Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

Mike Johnson’s position is young pregnant American women shouldn’t have to wait before being turned away to die in the parking lot from an ectopic pregnancy the hospital is afraid to treat
atrupar.com
Mike Johnson: "If you're a young, pregnant American citizen women who shows up in an ER and you get treated and they pay the hospital less for treating you than some illegal rabble rouser who came in from some South American country to do us harm, that is wrong."
eddiegorry.bsky.social
And what exactly happens to hospital access for EVERYONE when the local ED doesn’t get reimbursed for emergency services they are legally (and morally) obligated to provide? I’ll wait…

…the answer is that everyone loses access to high quality care!

Banning “dangerous gain-of-function” pathogen research is actually just banning pathogen research. TB causes chronic disease, the supposed cornerstone of the MAHA movement. Hard to see ending TB research on treatments as anything but another targeted attack on science in service of destroying it.

An infectious disease class that can’t teach about *checks notes* recent polio outbreak. JFC!

Tulane "terminated an academic director this summer after the syllabus she'd helped create for an infectious disease class was rejected by a newly hired instructor because it included an academic article about a polio outbreak in Gaza."

Some say that the incident is yet another glimpse of the tense climate experienced on local and national campuses by people who support Palestine.

Fuck Gavin Newsom. I will never vote for him and you shouldn't either.
Excerpt from an article discussing LGBT+ protections in California legislation. It states that Governor Newsom neither signed nor vetoed certain bills. One bill strengthened protections under Sen. Scott Wiener’s “State of Refuge” law. The highlighted portion reads: “At least four bills directly addressed trans protections,” followed by examples such as healthcare and patient confidentiality, streamlining legal name and gender changes, nondiscrimination in health insurance, and inclusive homelessness programs.

perhaps the biggest story TFPever ran was a catastrophically shoddy argument that George Floyd ackshully died of an overdose. When confronted with irrefutable evidence that the piece was simply wrong, Weiss didn’t take it down, she asked her critic, @radleybalko.bsky.social, to come on a podcast.

I'm sorry, but what's wrong with giving health care to immigrants? Republicans don't even want to give health care to citizens, but I don't understand the argument against keeping people who contribute billions of dollars to the economy healthy. It's also less expensive in the long run.

ICE used HELICOPTERS and the raid "resulted in the arrest of two suspected gang members." *Suspected*

What makes this even more pathetic is that these two people arrested were probably *suspected* of being gang members solely because they're not white. And maybe had a tattoo honoring their mother.

DHS says an operation last week in which agents raided a Chicago apartment building, rappelled in from helicopters, broke down doors and detained numerous residents, resulted in the arrest of two suspected gang members.

Walmart is so committed to making America healthy they won’t provide health insurance or a living wage to their employees but they will remove some food coloring from some of their products. Mission accomplished!
marketplace.org
Walmart says it will remove synthetic food dyes and several other additives from all of its store brands by 2027. That includes private labels like Bettergoods and Great Value, the most popular in-store brand in America.
Walmart's removal of synthetic dyes could ripple through the food supply chain
Walmart says 90% of products from in-store brands are already free of these additives. But even a 10% change for a retailer as massive as Walmart can have a big effect on the industry

Speaking for all physicians and healthcare providers here. When we see patients in need of care especially in an emergency room we do not leave them for dead. We do not care about their immigration status, we treat them because that is what we took an oath to do and is also basic human decency.
