Edinburgh you swank beauties. Here’s two me & @holliemcnish.bsky.social event doublers. One on 23/10 at Porty Town Hall for Hollie’s book launch (we’ll be over 500 strong on the night). The other, lushly intimate, on 08/11 on the stunning Fingal Boat for PTBO.

The full moon made a beautifully eerie silhouette of the rooftop architectural elements in my 1800's Edinburgh neighborhood.

Cool, yeah. Wish I'd started with Ghost to begin with. Everything about it aligns with the values of the Minute.

I'm slightly anxious about whether moving platforms to Ghost will impact this. But doing all I can pre-move to make it go as smoothly as possible, and the folks at Ghost have been incredible partners. I'll send a proper announcement about it soon. But the future of the 'business' relies on it.

The 'retention rate' of paying subscribers is what's keeping it going as a business. The reason it works: I set out to do something simple & stuck to it. Make it easier to find the news (serving readers) + send eyeballs to local journalism (serving publishers) while 100% ad-free. Thanks readers!
edinburghminute.bsky.social
I don’t say this enough but I’m so grateful to all the readers & subscribers of the Edinburgh Minute. You make the newsletter so much better. I don’t strive for millions of readers. That’s the antithesis of local news IMO. Open-rate among 25k ppl remains over 60% after 700+ editions. Loyalty! 🙏
