“Their place in history is settled.” These dipshits have absolutely no idea how history works.

(And the vast majority of ‘history’, as @karl-jacoby.bsky.social explains here, has been pretty clear-eyes that Wounded Knee was a massacre anyway.)

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

In 2014, I wrote an article about the Scourged Back photo for @anchistjournal.bsky.social which has generated more public interest than nearly anything I've written. The erasure of this image, which remains as powerful today and when it was taken, horrifies me. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

A Peter Mandelson humiliation is the exact thing this fractured and beleaguered nation needed.

Not sure if I'm missing something here, but the track listing on SuperDeluxe lists most of the London Town/Back to the Egg tracks as 2022 remasters. Were their archive projects started and then junked?

On my last few days in Cambridge. I’ll miss my college and faculty colleagues and all the great students I’ve taught. I will not miss the militant cyclists and the perpetual anxiety of wondering if I should be wearing a gown.

Here's hoping that the 2025 mixes add a Jeff Lynne sung verse to each song.

Palestinian statehood is not a bargaining chip.

It is not a threat.

It is an inalienable right of the Palestinian people.

Our demands on this shameful government remain the same: end all arms sales to Israel, impose widespread sanctions, and stop the genocide, now.

Good luck, Zack! Finally joined the party yesterday because of this.

Yet another example of the intellectual dearth that defines UK news media.

'Even the people that want to defend her have to call her a liar.'

Diane Abbott's 'objectively stupid and indefensible' remarks have impacted what should have been a 'glorious legacy' for all she overcame as an MP, says @mrjamesob.bsky.social.

🔊 I'm as shocked as anyone that Rogue Agent is available from today in a convenient, hand-held form. I believe the kids call this a "paperback"

Now live! I'm teaching a five week course on the Transatlantic Slave Trade (November-December 25). This is an exciting opportunity to engage with an array of primary materials and to consider slavery from the perspective of those forcibly enslaved. Please share!
