The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

They are one of the tiny little birds that stay with us year round. In the winter they are especially busy, constantly foraging and talking.
This red-breasted nuthatch has just plucked a small nut from a spruce cone and will either eat or stash it for later.

Once upon a time, people told stories of frost moving through the night. Its breath crystallized into patterns that preserved the memory of the old year. It was said that these patterns wove protection into the frozen earth, safeguarding hidden seeds beneath the snow.

The magic of frost reminds us that the cold is not emptiness, but a sacred pause in which life gathers strength, waits, and prepares for the returning sun. Its art transforms the earthly into wonders

We gave Jay Bhattacharya an opportunity to clarify his vaccine stance: does he REALLY believe that the vaccine is worse than the disease? Instead, he launched into a defense of MAHA as the future of scientific inquiry, and never really gave us a straight answer...

They’ve grabbed people off the street for how they look, separated families, and scarred communities with masked agents with guns.

I encourage everyone to do as they have — peacefully protect your neighborhoods and neighbors.

And economist and professor gives an evaluation…
It's bad.
Payrolls fell -105k in October and rose +64k in November. August and September payrolls were also revised down a total of 33k.

These data suggest VIRTUALLY NO EMPLOYMENT GROWTH since April ("Liberation day").

Unemployment is now up to 4.6%.

This is a tricky report, so stay tuned.

Think I’m going to paint this. Caught photo yesterday when it was snowy & everyone was scurrying to “The Nutcracker” matinee. My corner of historic district is down the street from the Schwartz Theater which is a small venue for local productions. Sold painting last week that I captured in rain.

Volunteer fire departments???
After taking over housing and healthcare, private equity is now buying up software used by volunteer fire departments — making it even harder for rural communities to respond to emergencies.

The only winners from private equity's price-gouging spree are wealthy investors.

Kaja Kallas: we have to be really clear-eyed. We have one aggressor and one victim. And the one that needs security guarantees is Ukraine, not Russia.

In last 100 years, Russia has attacked at least 19 countries, some as many as three or four times. None of those countries has ever attacked Russia
