I've been nostalgic for COVID since like 2021, but that shit's hitting hard right now. It was a nightmare but also the last time I could afford anything I wanted and had time to make things. Felt like I had some purpose and the means (physical, mental, financial) to dedicate myself to it.

It's 2006. You're in the computer lab and some girl you have a crush on asks if you've heard of this new band from Ohio. You pull up their Purevolume page and everything changes. It's the last time you'll ever be happy. Colon Quesadilla.

I watched My Hero and Stranger Things for the first time during the lockdown years ago, and finished both series within 24 hours of each other six years later. One of them is a half billion dollar piece of shit and the other is my favorite anime of all time. Can you guess which is which?

Turns out, when the worst people in society go out of their way to avoid spaces they deem too liberal or progressive, things end up pretty decent for the rest of us. Who knew!
This site is so much better than Twitter was and Threads is. Twitter brought out toxicity even before it became a Nazi bar and the algorithm on Threads is just awful outrage bait.
It’s just a much more enjoyable experience. Feels much more like an online community.

The Duffer Bros wrote exactly two likable characters in five seasons of television and killed them both for a cheap emotional beat. They could dump the entire main cast into a pit of lava next month and I'd rate the whole thing 5/5

Underrated aspect of modern Blazer fandom: we suck now. It's hard going to games. Frat boys and parents with small kids, music blasting every possession and other sports on the jumbotron for the manchildren. The Wave, 'refs you suck' chants, booing former players. It sucks man. I hate these people.
Nowhere close to the same level as the Pacers fans booing Myles Turner but I thought it was pretty wack Deandre Ayton got booed during pregame intros yesterday by Blazers fans. Not why they lost but the basketball gods don’t like ugly!

note the legals: LRG's using Japan's arbitration system for orphaned games to reissue Little Samson—if you can demonstrate that you've made a genuine effort to contact/identify a potential rights owner to no avail, you can legally commercialise an old game by paying royalties to the JP govt, which…
The Pacers plan to waive center James Wiseman to create roster space for McClung, who will sign a non-guaranteed multiyear deal, sources said. Indiana is dealing with several key injuries to their guards and wings to start the season.
The Indiana Pacers are signing guard Mac McClung to a multiyear contract, Greg Lawrence of Wasserman tells ESPN. The deal marks the first standard NBA contract for McClung, after the dunk contest's first-ever three-peat champion spent time on camp and two-way deals since 2021.

Oh no lol. Warriors draft picks continue to be awful
7 points in 8 minutes for Deni Avdija for his first shift. Yang Hansen played 3 minutes and didn't log any stats except a defensive 3-second violation.
Oregon nurses will make $100,000 a year working three days a week after two years of nursing school and then still strike every 9 months complaining they don't get paid enough lol. People die when the scabs take over. Y'all wonder why your peers have been tricked into thinking unions are bad.

The funny thing about the nightmare world we're all living in is Portland absolutely has gone to shit in the last 15 years (and especially since COVID) but it's just the usual stuff---homelessness, rental crisis, no jobs, exorbitant food prices. It's a gross city for those without money.
Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."
