The only thing that could have made it worse is if #CSU President Laura Bloomberg and #Ideastream CEO Kevin Martin gleefully followed the announcement by throwing puppies & kittens from atop Fenn Tower. Neither are from Cleveland and neither seem to have use for the community or goodwill.

The answer is YES. They need to have a transparent process about site selection tied to safety and not make it seem like a cash grab (like some of the sites chosen last time.)

Wessel was murdered in 1930 and used as a youthful martyr by Goebbels et al.

Ezra Klein went beyond opposing political violence to extol Charlie Kirk for doing politics "exactly the right way," making up a fictional version of Kirk to praise.

That distortion, with its indulgence of bad faith, is a perfect illustration of the larger media failure that helps Trump.

I've long said that Cavett is a nice, well-read, prepared guy, good broadcaster, but his brilliance is that he's such an unassuming Midwestern guy that in a sense his subjects forgot they were on TV. Nobody like that would get a show in a million years.

Olivier’s recitation is obviously fantastic. The only thing that stops it equalling Judi Dench’s famous turn on Graham Norton is he’s clearly on the spot, afraid. You see it at the end. He could get terrible stage fright. From middle age he’d often be sick before going on.
