Spec driven development + agentic AI to generate code seems like a good idea on the surface, but what does it leave for me to do? Gather requirements, write specs, press some buttons, review the AI's code, perform manual testing. Writing my own code was the fun part...

Looking forward to this - it's a real improvement on having to match arrays by index
ECMAScript excitement 😉

Congrats to my coworker @ashley-c.bsky.social at TechAtBloomberg on advancing Await Dictionary to Stage 2.7 at TC39 today 🎉

Promise.all returns positional results as an array. Promise.allKeyed allows named results inside an object 👍

Slack has changed to hide "inactive" channels and apps by default. Some kind of announcement would have been nice, I thought I was going mad. It makes it pretty hard to reactivate a conversation when it's not there any more...

The majority of Britons think important places for nature should have stronger protections.

Only 2% think protections should be weakened... yet that’s where ministers keep pushing.

Last chance to turn it off.

On Monday, November 3rd, Microsoft will start using your LinkedIn data for AI training. And remember, you're opted in by default.

something pretty galling when the National Gallery gets two individual gifts of £150 million each to build one gallery as the Northumberland Wildlife Trust has to scrabble around for £30 million to buy the Rothbury Estate and restore it to nature 🫠

There is a moment at this time of year when the word ‘apricity’ really comes into view. For those who don’t know it, it was recorded only once, in 1623, before slipping out of view. Apricity is the warmth of the sun on a chilly day.

... not to mention, AWS themselves has UK data centers!

Using US infra means data subject to US regulations + government access.

Kind of problematic for something like tax record, PII etc
