Any variations that drop columns that have the same value in the first row and corresponding row from the comparison data frame?
elipousson.bsky.social
Not at all. This is exactly the direction I’d been thinking of with a plan to iterate over each list/row and only keep the differences in the first list vs. the comparison list. I’ll try this out with some more of my complex input data and see if it works!
elipousson.bsky.social
Before I code something from scratch, does anyone have a #rstats function like setdiff but it works with named lists and/or data frame rows? Optionally dropping duplicate values and keeping the differences from the first list?

Imagine if a water pipe broke and the water department had to ask city council whether to fix it and then spend 12 months asking everyone on the street their opinion of how to fix it before they could start work.

That's how cities manage curbs.

i made a helpful reference
top right: a fractured black rectangle where one half is labeled "autism is bad" and the other side is labeled "FACT CHECK: autistic people are productive members of society".

top left:
WRONG
-negating their frame reinforces it
-starts with what it isn't instead of what it is
- your argument is shaped like their argument

bottom right: large image of Kirby, a pink blob inhaling and the "autism is bad" fragment, labeled THEY'RE DOING EUGENICS

bottom left:
RIGHT
- you eat their frame
-starts with what's actually happening
-contains and explains what they're doing
-your argument is shaped like kirby

Ah, growing kids is a whole other wrinkle! I’m on year 11 of box bike ownership now with kid 3. As they get bigger and bigger, I ride slower and slower. Good to ride whatever works best for you, of course.
elipousson.bsky.social
FWIW - it probably took me 3 or 4 months of regular riding at least to feel fully comfortable on my Bullitt. The differences in steering and the weight both take some getting used to! They are wonderful bikes.

I'm exited to announce a new resource about making slides with quarto and revealjs. This book is the combination of all the work I have done in this area, reordered and polished up

There isn't a lot of new information yet, but this format allows me to add more easily

Zines are a great tool for science communication. Earlier this year, I put one together with @kiricarini.com of @developmentseed.org.

The zine provides a visually interesting jumping off point for folks learning cloud-native geospatial data!

"A zine exploring common formats"
