once upon a time Congress had the self-respect to pass laws that were like "what? no, that's not what we meant, you clowns" in response to SCOTUS rulings, and if they had kept doing this on the subject of white-collar crime, instead of stopping after the 80s ended, we'd be in a much better place now

Here’s the thing about butthurt Yankees fans - you can’t be the team of “27 Rings” and talk about how you have to be a Yankees fan because you only rot for winners and then whine when everyone dances on your grave. If you’re the Yankees you gotta not get gentleman’s swept at home.

It is good that they name the relevant party explicitly; it would be better if they noted that it wasn’t just the GOP refusing to bar Trump from doing this, as though he has the presumed right to do so, it was the GOP senate refusing to assert/defend its own proper oversight role in the process.

It is true you can't trust Israel or the US but you should probably be aware the ceasefire doesn't begin until Saturday or Sunday and Israel has a long history of intensifying bombardment until the official starting point of a ceasefire.

I also do not think they understand the implications if reciprocity occurs.

So much of our politics is based in liberals being "the bigger man" and better people with higher standards than reactionaries.

I don't think people have thought through that changing. Because it will.
