So love wobbegongs. Everything is good about the wobbegong. Its name. Its flattened Oscar the Grouch face. Its frondy bits. Its lazy life as a hungry rug. And it’s a shark. Outstanding animal 10/10
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

Hey Doc, so how's it look?

Well, there's some concern. I'm going to order an MRI and we'll take a look at that and go from there.

An MRI? For what?

I'm not going to tell you. You're just going to have to guess!

... said no doctor, ever.

Yep.
Is this what will happen? Govt will reopen, the vote in December will happen and fail, health subsidies will expire in January, and the govt will shut down again in January, at which point the middle class will be feeling the pinch?

The old rulebook is gone. It's not coming back and we all need to accept that. The DOJ is weaponized. the GOP is rigging elections. Trump is literally bulldozing the White House.

Democrats need to operate under this new reality, fight hard, and play by the same rules.

it really is astonishing how quickly it goes from “civil war” and “blood in the streets” to “wow guys it’s just a sad tragedy” when it becomes inconvenient

I’ve finished reading Parable of the Sower. It is a remarkable story, brilliantly written & some it is painfully relevant right now. So glad I read it!

Also, it gave me nightmares. Gonna need some suggestions for lighter reading material from #booksky to counteract the bleakness. Aaaaaand go! 📚💙

I keep seeing people say things like, “Well we’re not going to HAVE elections,” and with all due respect, I think this is both wildly pessimistic and also wildly naive.

We are not going to have free and fair elections. We also have not had them in the past.
