This is good advice for any kind of spec. Don't sound out how you want lines to sound to voice actors - they'll do a better job if you give them flexibility. Same for giving game designs to programmers - be specific where needed, but trust them to solve technical hurdles better than you can.
Communicating with artists, the more polished your example sketch the more rigid and final your idea will seem. You don't want a detailed, rendered piece of artwork to explain a very open and flexible brief. Draw something rough or scribble on a photograph and trust them to do what they're good at

Please…. I’m begging you… if your game has a dialogue choice… and all the answers say the same thing in a different way…. You can just remove the dialogue choice……

The best experience in game dev is describing something that's cool in my head to a concept artist, and having them come back with something mind-blowingly cooler.
Using genAI for concept art is so fucking stupid because like... that's where you get the cool shit. Thats the blue sky phase where artists make pieces of art that will be seen by a teenager later and change their life forever. Why would you want to start from mediocre. Why would you do that.

Neon Giant has so many amazingly talented people. Great to see a local Uppsala studio making something so cool and ambitious 😁
The Krafton-owned studio Neon Giant, which is behind the newly revealed No Law, says it isn't part of Krafton's "AI-first" policy. "Since we are working independently, we don't partake in those conversations. We pride ourselves in the way we're making games."

Plus, why Krafton's AI-first approach doesn't extend to the Korean-owned Swedish studio

As a game writer you usually need a broader view of the narrative. This means that the person who has thought most about a single character's feelings and reactions at a specific story point is often the actor playing them. That's an invaluable insight and a huge part of characters feeling alive.
If your game has voice acting, then working with the voice actors is half of your writing process. It's not complete until you've heard it interpreted and reimagined by a voice actor. And they always reimagine it in ways that elevate the writing, in ways you never would have imagined yourself.

I like to get a tattoo for every big project I work on. Finally got this one - because I don't hate snakes.

Getting my game picked for Leftfield in 2018 was super important for me. If you're an indie with something cool to show, definitely submit 😁
Leftfield submissions are now open for EGX London, Oct 24th-26th: airtable.com/appIQDFmYU3o...

During a stressful part of my 20s, I played a ridiculous amount of Floating Point by @pentadact.com. Perfect for zoning out, blasting podcasts and forgetting you want to explode.
What’s your favorite video game you feel like no one else has played?
