I’m finding, and reporting, several cases of AI plagiarism in my intro English course every month at this point. They are all coming back as substantiated by the Academic Integrity committee. Is there any point to English Literature study in this new world? #definitionofdispirited

The (benign) Dictator, the small planet in my last book of poems, just called to instruct me to sing a little song each morning: “Que bonita estoy, que bonita estoy, yo me quieeeerro…” then hung up. I’m still laughing.

Not just snakes on the plane now! It’s snakes and tarantulas! And maybe rabid bats! All on the plane!
Complete batshit lunacy on the president's Truth Social account. Yes, he really posted this.

Need respite from the horror? Listen to this gorgeous conversation with Rick Rubin and Vikingur Ólafsson. What he says about Bach and music is some of the most inspiring thinking I’ve listened to in years; it could also easily be applied to poetry and art. pca.st/episode/4714...

I used to call these the Canada Council grant results flowers, as they were always in bloom when that fat or thin letter arrived. (Actual name, red-flowering currant)

Canada and Denmark share a 1.2 km long land border on Hans Island since we ended the Whisky War in 2022.
So technically we could join the European Union.

Also very interested in this. Female friendships—complicated beasts.
I'm about 3/4 of the way through an ARC of @tiffwattsmith.bsky.social's upcoming book and I cannot wait for it to come out because I need to talk about it with everyone I know.

It is so, so fascinating.
