This reminds me of an insightful comment we recently got on this video. Good demonstration of having the point hover so far above your head that it's in the stratosphere - like when far right Star Trek fans get angry that the franchise is "woke."

The Trump administration’s deportation machine has its claws in the Granite State and we, alongside state and federal lawmakers, must reject and resist its attempts to harm our immigrant communities. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/12/01/metro/nh-ice-immigration-detainees-doubled/

it's the final week of our $1 sale, and we're under 20 subs away from hitting 5,000! help us finish out the year strong (with a nice round number)

Exciting news! Thanks to our sale, we've rocketed all the way up to over 4,900 paying subscribers. This means we can cross another goal, a regular columnist, off our list. We plan to sort out the exact specifics in our own time, but for now, who do you think would be a good fit?

And the corollary question; if 87% of their job is automatable, how useful are CEOs?
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

today she asked dad to teach her chess. then she threw a tantrum that he was making her dinner - her favorite pasta btw - instead of playing another game with her. now she's upset that she has to go to bed instead of playing more chess. where did she come from?
She then talked about how the cheese is a square because it has four angles and four sides. Then she squealed about how good the cheese was. She's dad's little girl.

My interest in food means that while my kid is k pop obsessed I can make her kimbap and hotteok. She's engaged in learning about the language and culture and she even eats some food. Lucky for her I already learned the recipes years ago when the only Korean restaurant in the area closed

Part of the 30% cut that Valve takes is the implicit agreement that they'll protect developers from the hassle of dealing with individual payment providers, and if they're not actually willing to go to bat for us, why are we paying them so much again
Saw someone cite the Collective Shout thing and payment processors in regards to the Horse situation and say "Valve can't fight them by itself", and I think we maybe shouldn't be defending multi-billion dollar companies for arbitrary takedowns of artistic works and acting like they're the little guy

One of the big issues of our time is seeing 'young people cant afford homes' and 'homeowners cant afford to be taxed more' as two separate problems, rather than the inevitable consequence of an economy built around inflated house prices to placate landlords
Some sympathy for this potentially made up woman but I wonder how the poster feels about the numerous people who would love to be able to call a house their own and form relationships with their neighbours but can't because of the housing market. Does their emotional plea count for anything?
Mumsnet is already on the case.

I fuckin love this game everyone!!!!
If we add fishing, then we might as well:
-add bait
-add grubs
-add rotten logs to forests where grubs are
-make rotten logs mossy
-overhaul our decor layer system to fit arbitrary 3D shapes w/40+ var. of moss.
