It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Ontario passed a law starting Jan 2026 that it is illegal for companies to ghost you.
If you have interviewed for a job they are legally required to inform you if they hire someone else or close the position.

Saw an artist who described their work as Ghibli "inspired" and all of it was literally just fanart that featured Ghibli characters in it and it made me think of this again
While I respect that some people like to both play and make games that wear their inspirations on their sleeve, personally these have to be one of my least favourite types of games out there.
