UK banking industry opposes tax rises, says it pays tax at the rate of 46.4%, and last year paid £43.3bn.

Absolute lie.

At best banks paid £23.1bn, corporation tax was only £8.8bn.

Banks silent on public subsidies they get.

Britons pay the price of privatisation dogma.
If the government wants economic growth it must bring essential industries into public ownership
