every single successful general strike in US history has had union backing through the local AFL-CIO

this is the first time it’s been called for since the 1940s

I have two cousins with small kids in Minneapolis. They actually had Tim Walz as a high school teacher 20ish year ago. When he joined politics I asked and they told me he's always been genuinely good person.

My mom is more badass than Hegseth could ever dream of. She was in the 4th class of women at the Air Force Academy, served 22 years and led missions all over the world in the name of the open skies treaty

🧵I'm American. Raised by two veterans. I just want to do botany and entomology to help my local ecosystems thrive. Go home to my husband and cats and have kids someday. I've been protesting Trump for over ten years. Over a third of my life.

In my 20 years of incarceration, I’ve been strip-searched at least 500 times. Each was an act of humiliation and sexual violence. Story via @prismreports.org.
How ‘routine’ strip searches traumatize people in U.S. prisons

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's son was pulled over by ICE and forced to prove he is an American.

Two options:

1) ICE deliberately targeted him.

2) ICE is stopping all non-White people without any probable cause and forcing them to prove they are citizens.

Hard to say which option is scarier.

This Prison Is Built on Compassion and Respect
At Skyline Correctional Center, a cat roams around, programs are abundant, and dinners happen between staff and the incarcerated.

This is who she was.
Passionate in her beliefs. Fiercely loyal to her friends. Never afraid to let you know exactly where she stood. The best.

Fun Fact: I remember arguing with her over which of us hated Piggy the most. I was sure I did. She disagreed. It remains unresolved...
Carrie Fisher was the blueprint.
Protect your people. Call out the predators.

This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans who have served in uniform — and how our government is failing them right now.

Words aren’t enough, we need actions. Fund the VA. Fund mental healthcare. And end endless wars.

I hope you all know that we wouldn’t have modern science and technology without autistic people.

For every single piece of tech you enjoy, from cellphones to clothing, antibiotics and water sanitation, I can promise you: at some point along the way there was an autistic person who made it possible.

Still relevant 51 years later.
Anne Braden was a white civil rights activist. A quote I've heard from her "You do have a choice. You dont have to be a part of the world of the lynchers. You can join the other America."

I would love to be part of the conversation on MSNBC related to the Kimmel story and it's chilling effects on first amendment, but unfortunately I was terminated by MSNBC for stating that "hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which lead to hateful actions".

I'm curious fellow Americans, what was your first brush with gun violence, or encounter for many less privledged than I?

I was in kindergarten outside D.C. during the DC Sniper attacks. I just remember not being allowed to go outside for recess for a while.
