+ it doesn't matter what level of skill you are someone will dislike your work.

even if you're absolutely best at it people won't like it because it's not what they want made in the exact way they want it done.

answer is: do the art you like and and you'll find others that share the sentiment.
"you will get savaged"

No. You won't. You'll find a small community of people who enjoy your first attempts at art, and that community will grow as you get better.

Be so for real. Yes, maybe one or two assholes will criticize you but most people are not so unkind.
I mean, things are tough all over. If rude criticism stops you from making art, you should probably not be making art.

The US TikTok sale has been signed. The company will be controlled by a joint venture including Oracle, Silver Lake, Andreessen Horowitz, Abu Dhabi-based MGX. Adding a UAE company really makes it clear that this was never about national security concerns.

Scoop: TikTok signs deal for sale of U.S. unit after yearslong saga
The deal would end a yearslong saga to force TikTok's Chinese parent ByteDance to sell the company's U.S. operation.

The push for the TikTok ban was bipartisan and stupid. But the Trump administration's goals for the ban have always been crystal clear: to place control of TikTok in the US in the hands of people chosen by and indebted to Trump.

Last time I added pigment powder to an acrylic medium, I did waaaaay too much medium.

This time I'm 99% sure I didn't add too much medium... I'm 80% sure I may have added too little. At lest that's easier to fix?

Stages of making gift art:
1) Think of cool design.
2) Sketch it out.
3) Decide to go beyond experience and paint it on glass.
4) Make sketch into a stencil because writing mirrored is difficult, and I don't have the brain power for that right now.
5) Question life choices by writing a post.

Last night I had an amazing opportunity to introduce two players to #CandelaObscura at my local game store. Everyone had a great time. Even with the dice being mean at the start, they succeeded in their assignment!

Hopefully will be running more games there soon.

Friday: Internet outage in town.
Not ideal but can be managed.

Saturday: town gets internet back, my house doesn't because of an unknown issue.
This... this is now bad. I have things that can't be handled on a phone, and don't have a laptop. 😐 I now have calls to make. 😵

If you live in the US, you may be more concerned than ever about what happens when law enforcement shows up at a telco and demands information about your account.
A new anonymous phone carrier startup Phreeli, launching today, will let you sign up for cellular service with almost no personally identifiable information—not even your name. All it asks for is a ZIP code, the minimum info legally required for tax purposes. www.wired.com/story/new-an...

Privacy stalwart Nicholas Merrill spent a decade fighting an FBI surveillance order. Now he wants to sell you phone service—without knowing almost anything about you.

ChatGPT’s new Atlas browser doesn’t just see what you read — it remembers it.

@eff.org’s Lena Cohen showed me it even logged “memories” of her looking for *abortion care* and her doctor’s name. Out-surveils even Chrome.

Column | ChatGPT just came out with its own web browser. Use it with caution.
OpenAI’s Atlas promises AI-powered convenience. The price? Letting ChatGPT track and store “memories” of what you do online.
