this this this. The entire time I watched it.. yes, the handmaid's part was a lot, but the destruction of the united states... THAT's what's stuck with me this whole time.
With Handmaids Tale people focus on the shock of the mass rapes in the book and the show.
But how the regime came to be in power in that book keeps me awake at night because it is playing out in very intricate detail in our real lives right now.

What doctors don’t understand when I say I don’t actually want to lose weight… I just want to be a brick truck. My “weight loss journey” has very little to do with being skinny, and everything to do with being STRONG.
"LADIES, do THESE exercises if you want to be strong without bulking up!" Absolutely not. I want MUSCLES. I want to be so muscular I put the Incredible Hulk to shame. I want be a three-ton wall of vocal fry and brawn.

Anyone else suddenly getting a massive influx of GOP spam on the emails you used to apply for government benefits in the past?
Because I’m already over 20 spam emails today, which is the most I’ve gotten in the 28 years I’ve owned this email. 🙄

If you can, you should buy an EV right now. Especially one that can provide backup power.
Thats all Rivians, Kias, and Hyundais, the Leaf, the ID4, the Lightning, and a few others. No Teslas or Lucids except the CT. I doubt there are a lot of cybertruck buyers here, though.

Just realizing: of course there will be a 90 day extension issued next week on the TikTok ban. And not because of our ability to use the platform. But because 90 days…gets us to Tax Day. So all the people/biz’s that have generated income won’t be able to say “I couldn’t get my tax forms from TikTok”

I never really posted much on the bird app, so I don't expect bluesky to be much different in that aspect. But who knows! Maybe it'll surprise me!
