this model can export bounding boxes too! wonder if I can cook something up with LLM RAG that would make all this easily searchable and conversational 🤔

DOGE's "slow roll" to renew some of NOAA's contracts caused many Regional Climate Centers (RCCs) sites like this to go dark. Many researchers and other parties cannot obtain quality and *free* climate data.

Been using @kagi.com for a few months already and so glad to hear about their new Fair Pricing! Initially used it a ton for *every* search and hit the limit quickly. I now use it as a falllback for when I don't want gamified SEO results, and hardly hit the limit anymore. kagi.com/changelog#6155

Fun fact - government organizations at ALL levels are eligible for .gov domains:

Federal
Interstate
State or territory
Tribal
County
City
Special district
School district

If you have any connection to a governmental org that doesn't use a .gov yet, consider encouraging it!

it’s always interesting to me when tech news seeps into politics. in this case, it’s kinda hard to avoid getting caught up. a lot of the political talk I’ve read about this is just jokes like “stargate funding? lmaoo” and “china bogeyman trained AI with propaganda" 🫨
The fact that Deepseek R1 was released three days /before/ Stargate means these guys stood in front of Trump and said they needed half a trillion dollars while they knew R1 was open source and trained for $5M.

Beautiful.

After President Petro of Colombia denied entry of two US repatriation flights of Colombian migrants, President Trump has announced these retaliatory measures.

Petro said he wouldn’t allow the flights in until Trump establishes a protocol for the dignified treatment of migrants.

Love it when people open AI slop PRs to the Zed repo that don't make any sense.

When the crux of your "fix" depends on an API that *very clearly* doesn't exist, then maybe you should reconsider your life choices.
